Welcome to Arc en Ciel!

We sit in a small, quiet village on the Normandy/Brittany border,

across from the church. Staying with us provides you an opportunity

for rest and rejuvenation, and exploration of the bounty of our region.

From a quiet retreat to a family holiday to looking for property -- you are close to the Abbey of Mont St. Michel, the fishing village of Cancale, medieval Dinan, San Malo & Fougeres. At the end of your day, come home to the simplicity of French country living -- with all modern conveniences at your fingertips.

We are in La Manche, close to Pontorson (50240) with several small villages nearby that can fulfill all your needs ...the boulangerie and patisserie is in the next village of Argouges ... boucherie ... groceries ... gas ... banks and great restaurants -- all within a ten minute drive.

Sitting virtually in the fields of Normandy,   step out the front door to enjoy long walks, hiking, cycling --

or spend your time in the garden doing nothing but figuring out what goes on the BBQ for dinner.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY!

Well, we are settled in to Arc en Ciel, Ani,

and we have managed to wind up the desktop.
It's a lovely place and we are looking forward to a very relaxing week.

We are already using the garden (amazing courgettes!).

The welcome basket was very generous.

We had a really good time in Montanel...

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your house in your peaceful village and were blessed with hot sunshine every day. Your garden was indeed the best room of the house as we ate outside all the time and watched the sunset every night from it.

The house was just what we needed, a "lived in" home rather than just a holiday let. We loved the quirkyness and typical Frenchness of it and thank you for letting us use it. We used some of your lettuce and strawberries which were really delicious.  My husband did some weeding and hoeing and earthed up your potatoes which are coming on very well now.   The welcome basket was very much appreciated and we thought the bottle of red was gorgeous, in fact we found the same one in Pontorson and bought several bottles for use in the garden and also took some back home with us. Anyway, thanks again Ani, we will recommend your house to any of our friends who may be going to France in the future.

Just wanted to let you know we're departing a day early--regretfully! Mike just found out last night that a huge business trip that had been cancelled is back on, and they're scheduled to leave first thing Tuesday am so we need to head back a day early so he can re-group. Ugh!  Thank you so much for the house, we had a great time and saw tons of great stuff and indulged in plenty of wine and cheese...

We had a very pleasant stay in your lovely little cottage, peaceful and quiet. Not many holiday-makers around in France for that time of the year, and there are obvious signs  of recession everywhere. Many thanks...

Hiya! We are having a wonderful time, you are so lucky to have this place!
We took an easy day yesterday as all still pretty tired from the drive, so we popped in to Pontorson and went to the supermarket and got bread, milk etc and I've made some sandwhiches this morning for everyone for our day out to Mt St Michel...

It was very relaxing having a sit in the garden and having a sketch yesterday.

And thank you for the red wine, jam and eggs.  Very kind...

Will send you some pictures when we get back to the UK.
